One of my favorite ways to create is based on an open call for participants - I invite to the shoots any people (not required to be pro-models). Each time I don't know how many participants will come, nothing about their appearance and personality or how they will interact with each other. I just offer the main visual theme (location, props, etc) and create circumstances and some special moments to appear. I let the models improvise, just direct them softly.
I don't know exactly what can happen during the shoot, I don't have the final image in my mind, I just invite people and let things happen.

What does this concept - "photo performance" - mean?

I just offer some main visual themes (location, props, decorations etc). And then I let models improvise, just direct them softly and delicately. And we develop the theme together.
